As part of Christmas in July, we’re looking back at some of the festive shows and performances Sarah has shared with audiences around the world throughout her career.
Filmed in 2001 at the Papal seat of the Roman Catholic Church, A Musical Christmas from the Vatican brought the long-running Natale in Vaticano concert tradition to audiences outside Italy for the first time since the annual Christmas Eve broadcast began in 1992.
With the Vatican as its festive backdrop, the special featured a stellar lineup led by Sarah Brightman, Tom Jones, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Bryan Adams and Dionne Warwick, with appearances from Jewel, Charlotte Church and more. The programme brought together traditional Christmas and spiritual songs, accompanied by the Italian Symphony Orchestra and Turin Symphony Orchestra, both conducted by Renato Serio.
Sarah’s featured performances included “O Holy Night” and “Nella Fantasia,” two beautiful moments from this special Vatican Christmas concert.
