Sarah Brightman Career Retrospective: The 1980s

Join Sarah on Thursdays for a look back to beautiful memories from throughout her spectacular 4-decades-long career.

This week … it’s the 1980s! Sarah joined the London cast of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s then all-new musical ‘Cats’ in 1981 and began performing in a variety of other musicals, including ‘The Pirates of Penzance,’ ‘Masquerade’ and Lloyd Webber’s ‘Song and Dance.’ Her beautiful performances inspired the composer to write his unforgettable, critically-acclaimed ‘Requiem’ mass. In 1986, Sarah began her defining role as Christine Daaé in the epic musical ‘The Phantom of the Opera.’ Sarah toured with production throughout England, Canada and the US all while releasing the single “Anything But Lonely” and two solo albums: ‘The Trees They Grow So High’ and ‘The Songs That Got Away.’
