Today’s memories come from Sarah’s orchestra director, Sir Timothy Warburton, who shares a special message and snap shots:
“As Orchestra Director and Lead Violin for Sarah’s show HYMN I’m blessed to work not only with Sarah and some of the finest musicians in the world in our rhythm section but also with the many orchestras that join us along the way.
I rehearse the orchestra on the afternoon of the show day. As we often perform in arenas and theatres, space backstage can be very tight. Consequently, we have rehearsed in some of the most famous foyers, cafes, bars, hallways and yes, even boiler rooms in the world!
Once on stage for the evening, part of my job is to guide them through the show in such a way that they always know what to do, when to do it and how to do it. As soon as Sarah comes on stage the whole show lifts up, and the orchestra, without fail, enjoys contributing to this amazing show and being along for the ride.
